Child Developmental Specialist
A Child Developmental Specialist is a qualified and specially trained professional who screens, assesses, evaluates, and treats children with developmental disorders. He / She has a foundation to work with neonates / infants / children, assessing individual needs, creating treatment / therapy plan, and work with families / habilitation professionals
He / she focus on infant and toddler development and promote development across all domains.
Key responsibilities of a Developmental Specialist
- Screen and provide early intervention services
- Evaluation and assessment of ongoing services
- Provide direct support to the child and family for home management program
- Coordinate and participate as team evaluator in child developmental assessments
- Facilitation and participation in developing of Individualized Family Service Plan(IFSP)
- Collaboration with families in identifying their concerns, and priorities.
- Coordinate full range of community-based services with early intervention team
- Refer for specialized child therapies and counseling services when there is a need.
- Coordinating medical and health care services
- Assist in availing other required services for the betterment of the affected child.
